HIGGINS LAKE IS NOTED TO BE THE 6TH MOST BEAUTIFUL INLAND LAKE IN THE WORLD. Turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and awesome sunsets! The clarity of the water is like none other. The lake is conducive to all sports, boating, water skiing, tubing or fishing. The lake is 9600 acres and is about 147 foot deep in its deepest part. There is a large shelf around the majority of the lake which makes it nice for small children. The lake is spring fed which accounts for a lot of its clarity. There is an island on the southern part of the lake which has about 17 homes on it. There are also 2 sunken islands. There are 2 marinas on the lake, one on the north end and one on the south end. There are two State Parks, the North State Park and the South State Park where you can camp, swim or launch your boats. There are several other launch sites around the lake. You can also bike around the lake which is 26 miles around.
